Last week during lunch I stepped out to take some photos of buildings in the Sydney CBD that I found interesting. I was also planning on doing some scouting of locations for some infrared shots I wanted to take. Some examples of the things I was planning on photographing are below.
As I was taking my photographs I saw a large crowd gathering at the Northern end of Hyde Park. Being curious I walked over to investigate. Turned out that Sydney was hosting the 2010 Lions Clubs International Convention.
There were around 19,000 Lions in town from places all around the world, places as diverse as Texas, Thailand and Tunisia, just to name a few of the T countries.
Everyone was quite friendly and happy to have their photos taken. Sydney put on great weather to make the parade enjoyable for everyone. The national costumes were interesting, with lots of colours and flair.
Turned out to be a fortuitous run in which made my lunch time stroll much more interesting. It also reinforced my belief that you never know when you will need a camera, so you might as well have one with you.
