I just read a great little camera history which included photographs of several vintage cameras. Here is the article on PhotoTuts. It inspired me to take out my first camera, a Leica III f, and take a photograph of it as well. Here is a link to a brief history of flashes that was just published today.
This Leica was my first camera and was inherited from my grandfather. He bought it in the early 50’s brand new along with a wonderful leather case. He also had several black and white filters which were unfortunately stolen from me in France in 2001. This camera and I have been all around Europe, United States and Australia. It has been a fantastic camera which forced me to really learn how to use an all manual camera. I have since purchased a telephoto lens and viewfinder, replacement filters and several other pieces to give me a few more options with using the camera.
Currently I have a roll of infrared sensitive film loaded, and I’m using a Hoya R72 Infrared filter. When I get a little bit of free time I hope to finish up the roll and post some photographs from it. This is my first roll of IR film in the camera so I’m not exactly sure how it will turn out.
