Last Friday my friend Stephen and I organised the first of what we hope are monthly photowalks in the Sydney CBD. It turned out to be a beautiful day with lots of people out enjoying the almost spring like weather. Of course we lucked out as shortly after the weather turned nasty.
Above are some of the photographs from the walk. In my opinion street photography is generally black and white, but the photograph of the building with the reflection was stronger in colour. I think the colour is what made it visually more interesting especially because it was what initially drew me to take the photograph. I think that it is too easy to get stuck in thinking of taking one type of photograph or processing them in a certain way, but it is important to take a step back and look at other opportunities. Like in this case photographing a building in colour when all I have been shooting were people in black and white all day.
