This year again I went to Sculptures by the Sea for the 2013 instalment. This time I met up with my friend and fellow photographer Keith McInnes before sunrise to take advantage of the good early morning light.
We were both hoping for some wispy clouds so we could get a nice dramatic sky over the sculptures, but it just wasn’t the day for it. We still took advantage of the nice light and interesting sculptures. At my Google+ page I posted a few more images from the day.
I was quite surprised at how many photographers made the effort to get to the beach before 5:30am. Keith reminded me though that it is a major event, is free and is well publicised, so I shouldn’t have been surprised. We did run into a couple of other photographers that we knew, along with some people continuing their nights out with a swim in the ocean.
I hope to get down to the exhibit for another shoot before the event ends over the weekend.
