I wasn’t quite satisfied with my first sunrise at this year’s Sculptures by the Sea, so I made a return two days later. This time looked promising, until the clouds refused to allow the sun through. So the weather went from one extreme to the other and left me still looking for that happy medium. Here are a couple of photographs where I was trying to make the most of the morning.
The sun managed to have about 2 minutes where it barely lit up the underside of some of the clouds letting me get a few quick photographs, but the rest of the morning was a very blue and somber affair. I didn’t mind too terribly though as it forced me to look for the less obvious photographs. I ended up focusing on some of the details in the sculptures which were quite interesting.
Still chasing that great sunrise I will try to get out for one more shoot before the exhibition ends this Sunday. It just goes to show how much dedication it takes to get some of those gorgeous photographs with a perfect sunrise or sunset.
